Kelly Clarkson postponed her Las Vegas residency hours before its first show Friday as the singer revealed that preparing for the shows has “taken a toll on my voice.” The singer and daytime talk show host was scheduled to begin her Studio Sessions residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on July 4th.
However, hours before showtime Friday, Clarkson posted on social media that both of this weekend’s opening gigs were off.
“We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans.

“We’re bringing the studio to the stage this time with ‘Studio Sessions,’” Clarkson previously said of the residency when it was announced back in February.

July 4th was the start date of the singer and talk show host’s Studio Sessions residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum. However, Clarkson announced on social media that both of this weekend’s opening shows were cancelled just hours before Friday’s show.
“We have been working around the clock to create the most unique and intimate experience possible for my amazing fans during Studio Sessions. “I am so appreciative that you always come through for me, and I am very saddened to have to postpone the opening at Caesars tonight and tomorrow,” Clarkson wrote.
“My voice has been affected by the preparation and practice. I’m taking this weekend and next week off to make sure we can give you all what you deserve because I want the shows to be flawless for you all and I need to guard against doing any major harm. The performance is absolutely amazing. The singers and musicians are excellent, and I want us all to get off to a great start. “”.
Given that she already plans to open the residency the following weekend, Clarkson is optimistic that the vocal difficulties will only last temporarily. She continued, “I’m excited to return next weekend and show you all what we’ve been working on.”.

Having previously held a residency at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Clarkson is no stranger to Vegas. The run of that program was 2023–2024. Since 2019, the singer has not embarked on a formal tour, which was in support of her Meaning of Life album from 2017.
Clarkson previously stated of the residency when it was announced back in February, “This time, we’re bringing the studio to the stage with ‘Studio Sessions.'”. With encore dates planned for November, the residency is expected to run through August 16; it is unknown when the postponed dates will be rescheduled.
