NEGATIVE

Fans of the 25-year-old multi-instrumentalist Nicole Kidman are holding Maggie Baugh responsible for the dissolution of her marriage to Keith Urban. She finally made the major “announcement” that she had promised the public.

After garnering negative attention for posting a video of 57-year-old Keith Urban altering the lyrics of his song in a way that fans found flirtatious while they performed together, Baugh announced on Monday that she would be making an announcement shortly. While fans bombarded her older posts with critical remarks, Baugh remained silent on social media for days. As a result, some people in her teaser comments assumed that the impending announcement would be an “apology” or “engagement” news.

The chance presented itself in a special way when the singer sang the line “I was born to love you” to her while they were performing with Urban. Most recently, they changed the lyrics to “The Fighter” to read, “Maggie, I will be your guitar player.”. Days after Baugh shared the moment on social media with the caption, “Did he just say that?” Kidman, 58, filed to dissolve the couple’s 19-year marriage. According to The Daily Mail, Urban had been seeing a “younger woman in the industry,” and the Nashville music scene was talking about their relationship.

Since then, the singer has spent days being called names and ridiculed online as commenters post Kidman memes on her content and continually criticize her appearance. Chuck Baugh, Baugh’s father, has spoken out multiple times to try to dispel rumors of an affair between his daughter and her former boss, so her family has even been pulled into the gossip mill.

It is reasonable to assume that Baugh has something to brag about in regards to mental health, as her post implies, even though the attention has given her the recognition she may have desired. She hasn’t openly refuted the rumors despite the negative publicity.
