Elon Musk has appeared to delete some of his posts on his social media platform X that escalated his bitter feud with President Donald Trump this week.
Musk’s accusation, which the White House has disputed, marked an escalation in the public spat between the men.
Try searching for something else,” said the X page that once displayed Musk’s post.
The White House did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
In one of the now-deleted posts, Musk accused Trump of being mentioned in files related to Epstein, without providing any evidence of his claim.
Elon Musk seems to have taken down some of the posts he made on his social media site X this week that intensified his acrimonious conflict with President Donald Trump.
Trump was accused of being mentioned in “files” of the late sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein in one post, which was removed as of Saturday morning.
The public dispute between the two men intensified with Musk’s accusation, which the White House has denied.
“Well. There is no such page. Once Musk’s post appeared, the X page said, “Try searching for something else.”.
Additionally, Musk said “yes” on Thursday to a user’s post advocating for Vice President JD Vance to succeed Trump after his impeachment.
As of Saturday morning, that position was also empty.
Vance attempted to minimize Musk’s attacks by characterizing the billionaire as an “emotional guy” who became irritated, saying Musk was making a “huge mistake” by targeting Trump in an interview with “manosphere” comedian Theo Von on Friday.
The reason Musk removed the posts was not immediately apparent. CNBC’s request for comment from the White House was not immediately answered.
However, it’s the most recent development in the once-friendly relationship’s fast decline.
A little more than a week ago, Musk and Trump congratulated each other at the end of Musk’s official tenure as head of the Department of Government Efficiency.
However, this week, their relationship soured as the two men spat on social media, largely because Musk was so outspoken in his criticism of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” as CNBC previously reported.
Musk accused Trump of being mentioned in Epstein-related files in one of the since-deleted posts, but he offered no proof to support his allegation.
According to Musk, “that is the true reason they haven’t been released to the public.”. “..”.
Musk’s claims were denied by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
In a statement to CNN, she said, “Elon is upset about the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted, so this is an unfortunate episode.”.
