A Powerball ticket sold in Michigan won $1 million, just missing out on the estimated $623 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers in the drawing Saturday, March 16, but not the Powerball, the national Powerball site said.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $645 million, with a cash value of approximately $307 million, for the next drawing Monday, March 18.
The winning numbers were 12, 23, 44, 57 and 61 with a Powerball of 5.
The winning ticket in Michigan was sold online, the Michigan Lottery said.
Nearly 50,000 other tickets won prizes from $4 to $50,000 in the state.
Tickets sold in New Jersey and South Carolina also matched five numbers but not the Powerball.

According to lottery officials, a Powerball ticket that was sold in Michigan won $1 million but fell short of the estimated $623 million jackpot.

The national Powerball website stated that while the ticket matched five winning numbers in the drawing on Saturday, March 16, it did not match the Powerball.

As of Monday, March 18, there was no winner of the grand prize, which now stands at an estimated $645 million, with a cash value of about $307 million.

12, 23, 44, 57, and 61 were the winning numbers, with a Powerball of 5.

The Michigan Lottery said that an online sale of the winning ticket occurred in Michigan.

Eleven thousand additional tickets in the state were awarded prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000.

While five numbers were matched on tickets purchased in South Carolina and New Jersey, the Powerball was unmatched.
