The Exact Time ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 is now available on Netflix

SciTechDaily

To call the first season of Squid Game a hit would be a great understatement.
Squid Game’s single season has over 1.6 billion hours of watch-time which, if you strung it all out, would be the equivalent of over 188,000 years.
The next closest season of Netflix goes to Stranger Things Season 4, with over 1.3 billion hours, and then Wednesday with just over 1.2 billion.
Dahmer comes in at fourth place with 856 million, just half of Squid Game’s total.
The new season lands on Netflix on Thursday, December 26th at 12am PT / 3am ET.

NEGATIVE

It would be a huge understatement to say that Squid Game’s first season was a hit. International attention was drawn to the unsettling dystopian drama. It continues to be Netflix’s greatest success story ever, surpassing even its closest rivals in popularity.

Over 11.6 billion hours have been watched in a single season of Squid Game, which is equal to more than 188,000 years if combined. Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 4 comes in second with over 1 point 3 billion hours, followed by Wednesday with slightly over 1 point 2 billion. With 856 million, Dahmer is in fourth place and only half of Squid Game’s total.

The show debuted on Netflix more than three years ago, shocking viewers with its gory “Most Dangerous Game”-style contests. With the release of Season 2, fans are feeling both anxious and excited. Will the second season live up to the first, or will the novelty have worn off? Will the new season resolve some of the issues and unresolve some loose ends from the first season, or will it quickly lose its appeal like so many second seasons have?

To be honest, by the time the first season concluded, I wasn’t even sure that this show should have had a second. It seemed as though Seong Gi-hun’s story had been told and was neatly concluded. In the end, he ought to have visited his daughter instead of dying his hair pink and returning to exact revenge. Nevertheless, even though the conclusion left me a little cold—especially with its major twist—I can’t wait to return to the evil Squid Games and see what transpires.

At 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET on Thursday, December 26th, the new season will be available on Netflix. In essence, if bingeing is your thing, you can do it all at once. Though I might just jump right in tomorrow as well, I might stay up late to watch the first episode. Although I feel that I should have rewatched the first season, it might feel more refreshing to start Season 2 with a more hazy memory. For better or worse, I must admit that I still remember a lot of the first season’s most horrific scenes.

This is the trailer for Season 2.
