The Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic are getting an update that has already begun rolling out for other devices.
A new update under the build numbers R940XXS1BYE9 and R960XXS1BYE9 is beginning to roll out for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, respectively.
The update comes as a minor security update, which implements some software changes to keep the device functioning properly.
The update can be pulled in the Galaxy Watch settings or through the Samsung Wearables app.
The Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic will be a part of the One UI 8 beta, though timing is up in the air.

Although carrier editions may also begin to receive the update, it looks like the update is rolling out for both devices in the US. You can pull the update via the Samsung Wearables app or the Galaxy Watch settings. When the watch is turned off or left idle for a while, the update may even appear.

Samsung is preparing its devices to receive Wear OS 6, but the beta hasn’t appeared to be available for devices yet, despite being formally announced for all watches save the Watch 4 series. It is unclear when the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic will be included in the One UI 8 beta.
