ORIGINAL STORY: You’re not the only player who is having trouble finding a Player 2 or Player 3 when you start Elden Ring Nightreign this weekend.
About an hour ago (Saturday, May 31st), developer FromSoftware suggested that players “restart the matchmaking process” if they’re having trouble finding a co-op partner in a brief statement that was posted to official Elden Ring social media accounts.
“Night travelers. In Elden Ring Nightreign, the brief message advised, “Please try restarting the matchmaking process if you have trouble finding other players when launching an expedition.”. “I appreciate your tolerance and comprehension. “..”.
As one commenter posted in the replies, “How often am I supposed to restart it? Yesterday I spend [sic] several hours restarting it on PS5 to not even play one match…” suggests that it might not completely resolve the problem for all players.
For Nightreign players, finding a co-op partner is quite crucial. Ed stated in his post from yesterday that he would not advise playing Nightreign alone at this time because it is obviously not the intended design. While FromSoftware previously acknowledged that a two-player option was “something that was overlooked during development,” it appears that the studio is responding to the current backlash by making solo play more feasible.
