A fourth inmate in a group of 10 who escaped from New Orleans’ main jail Friday has been captured, Louisiana State Police said Monday.
He is charged with first-degree murder and was being held without bond as he awaited court proceedings, according to court documents.
“Price will ultimately be transported to a secure state facility outside of the area,” state police said Monday.
The 10 escaped shortly after midnight Friday from the jail at the Orleans Parish Justice Center by using a rectangular hole behind a bathroom fixture in a cell.
Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson said she suspected personnel “inside of our department” may have been involved.
Louisiana State Police announced on Monday that they had apprehended the fourth of ten prisoners who broke out of the main jail in New Orleans on Friday.

State police stated on Monday that Price would eventually be taken to a secure state facility outside of the region.
Nineteen people were still at large on Monday night. Authorities said on Sunday that they thought the remaining fugitives would be apprehended and taken back into custody shortly.
A reward for information that leads to the capture of each man has increased to $20,000, and authorities said more than 200 law enforcement officers were searching for them.
Currently, the state police superintendent, Col., said, “We are certain that we have real intelligence on all of those fugitives.”. Robert Hodges stated during a press conference on Sunday evening.
The ten made their getaway from the Orleans Parish Justice Center jail just after midnight on Friday by using a rectangular hole in a cell behind a bathroom fixture.
Susan Hutson, the sheriff of Orleans Parish, stated that she had a suspicion that “inside of our department” personnel might have been involved. In the end, three workers were put on unpaid leave while the investigation was conducted.
The escape is under investigation by the state attorney general.
