Fourth escaped inmate captured in New Orleans after jail break

NEW ORLEANS — A fourth inmate who escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Center early Friday morning has been captured, according to Louisiana State Police.
Authorities say Price will be transferred to a secure state facility outside of the New Orleans area.
Kendall Myles, Robert Moody, and Dkenan Dennis are the other three escapees who have been captured.
The manhunt has now stretched into its fourth day, with officers scouring neighborhoods and following leads across the region.
“There’s no way people can get out of this facility without some type of lapse in security,” she said.

NEW ORLEANS — Louisiana State Police have apprehended a fourth prisoner who broke out of the Orleans Parish Justice Center early Friday morning.

Gary C., 21. Price was arrested in New Orleans on Monday.

Ten prisoners, including him, broke out of the prison.

Price will be moved to a secure state facility outside of the New Orleans region, according to authorities.

Three other escapees have been apprehended: Dkenan Dennis, Robert Moody, and Kendall Myles.

According to LSP, more than 200 law enforcement officials from local, state, and federal agencies are still working nonstop to find the remaining fugitives.

Now in its fourth day, the manhunt is ongoing, with police searching neighborhoods and pursuing leads throughout the area.

Authorities are still urging people to report any sightings they come across.

For information that results in a fugitive’s arrest, the following rewards are being offered.

• $5,000 for Crimestoppers GNO.

• $5,000 for ATF.

FBI: $10,000.

• The sum is $20,000.

How the escape took place.

The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the prisoners escaped at approximately 12:23 a.m. A. Friday. They escaped via a supply dock, scaled a perimeter wall, and fled across the interstate using broken cell locks and a breached wall behind a toilet.

The prisoners then successfully fled by scaling a wall and fence and rushing out of a door at the loading dock. The prisoners then entered a neighborhood after crossing I-10. Two of the prisoners were captured on camera strolling through the French Quarter.

The process of accountability has begun.

While the inquiry is ongoing, three OPSO employees have been placed on unpaid leave. Since taking office, Sheriff Susan Hutson has been voicing concerns about the jail’s infrastructure, she said on Friday.
