The update to Vanderpump Rules is official.

Bravo revealed on Tuesday that its popular reality show will return for season 12, but with a completely new cast. In the wake of “Scandoval,” the scandal that thrust the original cast into the public eye and played out over the last two seasons to both eye-popping ratings and mixed audience results, the show—which was originally a spinoff of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills—has been on hiatus.

Lisa Vanderpump, executive producer of Vanderpump Rules and the head of SUR, the Los Angeles eatery that serves as the show’s focal point, will be joined by a new cast of “close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors” in Season 12. The newest group of servers, hosts, and bartenders, full of drama, situationships, and enemies, are welcomed by the West Hollywood mainstay SUR, and now TomTom, under Lisa Vanderpump’s watchful eye. “”.

Production on the upcoming season is scheduled to start in 2019. The names of the new cast members and the premiere date will be revealed later.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, original cast members Lala Kent, Scheana Shay, Brock Davies, and Tom Schwartz will all appear in the upcoming season of the Vanderpump Rules spinoff The Valley. The entire cast of The Valley, Vanderpump Rules, and the broader Bravoverse, including Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, James Kennedy, and Katie Maloney, is free to appear, according to a source close to the program.

Additionally, there will be a retrospective special that will “celebrate the past decade of heartbreaks, friendship rifts, and scandals” by highlighting the previous 11 seasons. “”.

Alex Baskin, executive producer of Vanderpump Rules via 32 Flavors, added, “What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again.”. We have a great deal of respect for the original group and their legendary run, and we are excited for the audience to witness a vibrant new group of friends and coworkers navigate life together. “”.

“The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears, and everything in between,” Vanderpump herself continued. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has shared their lives. You are all so loved. One shift in the restaurant industry always gives way to another. Cheers to Vanderpump Rules’ upcoming generation. “.”.

With 3.2 million viewers over three days for the season 11 premiere and 4.6 million after three days for the season 10 reunion, Vanderpump Rules has grown to become one of Bravo’s most popular series.

However, the 11th season of Vanderpump Rules proved to be a contentious one after Scandoval; at the end of season nine, Sandoval’s covert affair with former cast member Rachel Leviss was revealed, and the betrayal that became known as “Scandoval” made Sandoval’s partner, Madix, a breakout star, caused Leviss to leave the show, and made Sandoval a villain condemned to group exile. The 10th season examined the ensemble’s aftermath, but following a tense finale and a polarized reunion, some viewers were requesting a cast reorganization from the network.

“It was the most difficult season we’ve had to make,” Baskin told THR following the May 2024 reunion, which caused an even more pronounced rift by playing the finale’s conclusion in real time for the group. The group was quite split. We returned to production shortly after the reunion, so you could see the group’s true state. I think the reunion ends on a really strong note, and many questions remain that are being answered in real time. “”.

With Baskin at the time commenting on the uncertainty, the show had been paused just prior to the reunion and then went on hiatus. He asserted that everyone requires time to regroup. “Group harmony and even interaction cannot be forced. He continued to hold out hope that the show would go on regardless of what happened. The final chapter of the show has been written numerous times, but it has still gone on. Everything is possible. There is still a robust core present. Thus, I could definitely see some significant additions after the majority of the cast returns. There seems to be a lot of life. I am unsure of the precise form that takes. “”.

The cast reboot comes after Sandoval and Schwartz announced that their Los Angeles bar, Schwartz and Sandy’s, would close after two years of business due to negative feedback following the scandoval pandemic and reduced profits following COVID-19. Madix and Maloney, their respective ex-partners, are currently running their L. A. . sandwich shop Something About Her. Madix has also pursued roles outside of Bravoverse, such as hosting Love Island USA, another popular reality show, and appearing in Broadway’s Chicago.

Vanderpump’s next season of her Hulu series, Vanderpump Villa, will also feature former Pump cast member Stassi Schroeder.

The producers of Vanderpump Rules are Evolution Media and 32 Flavors. Executive producers include Baskin, Joe Kingsley, Ken Todd, Barry Poznick, and Jenn Levy.
