“The Wild Robot” is referred to as Nicki Kidman After Two White Wines by Nikki Glaser in her cut of the Golden Globes, with Alec Baldwin and Luigi Mangione also being ridiculed

Nikki Glaser earned widespread acclaim for her hosting duties at the 2025 Golden Globes, where her monologue poked fun at Diddy, Ben Affleck and Timothée Chalamet’s mustache.
“We had another Diddy mention that worked better… and you only get one Diddy mention.
No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.” Another cut joke would’ve roasted the Catholic Church: “I loved ‘Conclave.’ It’s about the choosing a new pope.
Glaser cut this Kidman joke: “’The Wild Robot’ is nominated tonight — and by that I mean Nicole Kidman after two white wines.” She wanted to tell it during the monologue but worried Kidman might not have the best reaction.
And then during ‘Joker 2,’ I was really hoping they would.” The jokes Glaser did make during her Golden Globes hosting stint were widely praised, so much so that the broadcast’s executive producer Glenn Weiss told Variety that the Globes team would be open for Glaser returning.

Nikki Glaser received a lot of praise for hosting the 2025 Golden Globes, where she made fun of Timothée Chalamet’s mustache, Diddy, and Ben Affleck in her monologue. However, what about the jokes that were not broadcast? Glaser shared some of the more scathing jokes she chose not to say live on television when she appeared on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio the morning after the awards ceremony (via US Weekly).

Glaser had this joke taken out of the monologue about Diddy, the disgraced music mogul who is accused of rape and sex trafficking: “This is the last time all of you will be in the same room together until the Diddy trial.”. Why? “You only receive one Diddy mention, but we had another that was more effective. The people in the room may turn against you if you accuse them of being involved in that. “”.

When Glaser finally addressed the Diddy scandal on air, she joked that “Challengers” was “more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card!” She also said, “I’m sorry, I’m upset too.”. This year’s after-party won’t be as enjoyable, but we must move on. The phrase “Stanley Tucci freak-off” doesn’t sound good. This year, use a lot of olive oil instead of baby oil. “.”.

“I loved ‘Conclave,” is another sarcastic joke that would have disgraced the Catholic Church. It concerns the selection of a new pope. It warmed my heart. You will feel so moved by it that the church will have to relocate it to a different theater. Hot tip: The Conclave afterparty is open without identification. “”.

“We didn’t do those because they were Catholic Church pedophile jokes — we’ve all heard them, we don’t need more of that,” Glaser clarified. “.”.

In reference to Adrien Brody’s award-winning roles in “The Pianist” and “The Brutalist,” Glaser did make a joke about him on air: “If Adrien Brody could go back in time, he would thank baby Hitler for his career.”. “”.

Glaser remarked, “I really adored that one.”. However, Gen Z, my assistant, said, “I don’t understand.”. That joke will cost us an entire generation, and I just called him “Hitler” for nothing. “.”.

Glaser also made a joke about Luigi Mangione, the man suspected of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson: “this evening, Glen Powell is nominated for ‘Hit Man.'”. Who would have guessed that you would only be America’s second-hottest hit man?

In her monologue, the comedian did end up making lighthearted jokes about Timothée Chalamet and Nicole Kidman, but her original quips were much riskier.

“The Wild Robot” is nominated tonight — by which I mean Nicole Kidman after two white wines,” Glaser interrupted this Kidman joke. Although she was concerned Kidman might not react well, she wanted to share it during the monologue.

Rather than using this Bob Dylan joke, Glaser chose to make fun of Chalamet’s mustache: “Timothée Chalamet took lessons in guitar, dialect, movement, and vocals to become Bob Dylan [in A Complete Unknown].”. Bob Dylan, on the other hand, did it the old-fashioned way—with heroin and autism. “”.

Glaser’s best move, though, may have been to refrain from making the Alec Baldwin “Rust” joke about the passing of cinematographer Haylna Hutchins: “Michael Keaton was so great in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”. Alec Baldwin was too busy creating them to return to play a ghost, which is unfortunate. “.”.

Glaser emphasized, “I know that was not nice. Please know that.”. Even though the joke is hilarious, it’s just too cruel. “”.

During her monologue, Glaser elicited a great deal of laughter when she joked that Ben Affleck uses the words “Wicked,” “Queer,” and “Nightbitch” to describe his orgasms. “Here’s to Ben Affleck,” she said, interrupting this Affleck joke. I’m excited to watch which Jennifer you attempt to destroy next. “”.

Additionally, she chose not to make fun of Matt Gaetz by saying, “The movie ‘Anora’ is nominated for four awards tonight.”. Many have referred to it as the most unapologetic examination of sex work since Matt Gaetz’s payment history. “”.

Glaser specifically targeted “Joker: Folie à Deux,” a box office failure, during the ceremony by asking the audience, “Where is their table? Oh, that’s right, they’re not here.”. However, the cut joke was much more direct: “I saw ‘Joker 2’ and, you know, it reminded me of when the first Joker came out and I was in the theaters and I was afraid someone was going to shoot it up.”. And I fervently hoped they would during “Joker 2.”. “.”.

Glenn Weiss, the executive producer of the broadcast, told Variety that the Globes team would be open to Glaser returning because of the widespread appreciation for the jokes she did make while hosting the Golden Globes.

“We really enjoyed working with her, and we believe she will be excellent at this in the long run,” Weiss stated.
