The MTV Europe Music Awards are among the most coveted awards in the music industry.
This year’s Global Icon award went to rapper Busta Rhymes for his long career and significance in music around the world.
Among them, Taylor Swift took home the award for Best US Act, Shawn Mendes was recognized as Best Canadian Act, and Mexican Yeri Mua won the award for Best Latin America North Act.
Taylor Swift was the winner of the night, taking home four awards: Best US Act, Best Video, Best Artist, and Best Live.

One of the music industry’s most sought-after honors is the MTV Europe Music Awards. The greatest musicians in the world came together in Manchester, England, this year to honor the international superstars who inspired us to sing and dance during the previous 12 months.
Rapper Busta Rhymes received this year’s Global Icon award in recognition of his extensive career and global musical influence. The Pet Shop Boys were also acknowledged as Pop Pioneers.
Prior to the ceremony, the regional honors were given out. Yeri Mua of Mexico won the Best Latin America North Act award, Shawn Mendes was named the Best Canadian Act, and Taylor Swift was named the Best US Act.
With four awards—Best US Act, Best Video, Best Artist, and Best Live—Taylor Swift emerged victorious from the evening.
