Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s feud appears to have no end in sight, and now Apple is unwittingly getting pulled into the complicated affair thanks to a possible Siri malfunction and Apple Music.
Apple gets dragged into messy artist rivalry According to Billboard, Drake is taking legal action against his music label, Universal Music Group (UMG), as well as Spotify.
The artist claims the two conspired to boost rival Kendrick Lamar’s song ‘Not Like Us’ in which Lamar makes a big allegation against Drake.
Is it possible that Siri played Lamar’s song by accident at times?
But Apple essentially taking a bribe to boost a hit song from Drake’s rival via Siri and Apple Music?
The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar seems to have no end in sight, and now Apple is inadvertently becoming involved in the complex situation because of Apple Music and a potential Siri issue.
Apple becomes embroiled in a messy artist competition.
Drake is suing Spotify and Universal Music Group (UMG), his record label, according to Billboard.
According to the artist, the two plotted to promote rival Kendrick Lamar’s song “Not Like Us,” in which Lamar makes a highly salacious accusation against Drake.
Drake is putting a lot of pressure on Spotify and UMG, but not just them. According to the artist’s Manhattan court filing this week, Apple is also involved.
taken from the court document.
According to information and belief, UMG made or authorized payments to Apple Inc. to have Siri, its voice-activated digital assistant, intentionally lead users to “Not Like Us.”. According to online sources, when users requested that Siri play the album “Certified Loverboy” by recording artist Aubrey Drake Graham, also known as Drake, Siri played “Not Like Us,” which contains the accusatory lyric “certified pedophile,” which is directed at Drake.
Technically speaking, Apple has not been charged with any crimes because Universal Music Group is the target of this case.
But it’s a pretty crazy claim, and it might be a fabrication or maybe the result of Siri’s lackluster performance history.
Is it possible that Siri occasionally played Lamar’s song by mistake? At times, I’ve witnessed Siri make a variety of strange errors.
That’s a really strange jab at the company, though, because Apple is effectively accepting a bribe to promote a popular song from Drake’s rival via Siri and Apple Music. One that has little substance, both because Drake isn’t pursuing legal action against the business and because it seems unrealistic.
