Conclave and Wicked lead the 30th Critics Choice Awards film nominations, with 11 nominations each, the Critics Choice Association announced today.
Dune: Part Two and Emilia Pérez follow closely behind with 10 nominations apiece, including Best Picture nominations for both films.
Rounding out the Best Picture category are A Complete Unknown, Anora, The Brutalist, Nickel Boys, Sing Sing, and The Substance.
In addition to Best Picture, Wicked’s 11 nominations include Best Acting Ensemble, while Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande racked up nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively.
The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards show will be executive-produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment.
With 11 nominations apiece, Conclave and Wicked lead the 30th Critics Choice Awards film field, the Critics Choice Association said today.
Emilia Pérez and Dune: Part Two are not far behind, each receiving ten nominations, including Best Picture. A Complete Unknown, Anora, The Brutalist, Nickel Boys, Sing Sing, and The Substance complete the Best Picture category.
Isabella Rossellini was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, Ralph Fiennes was honored in the Best Actor category, and Conclave was nominated for Best Picture and Best Acting Ensemble. Stéphane Fontaine received a nomination for Best Cinematography, Peter Straughan for Best Adapted Screenplay, and Edward Berger for Best Director. Lisy Christl for Best Costume Design, Volker Bertelmann for Best Score, Nick Emerson for Best Editing, and Suzie Davies for Best Production Design completed the Conclave nominations.
Wicked received 11 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Acting Ensemble. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande received nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively. In addition to Alice Brooks’ nomination for Best Cinematography and Dana Fox and Winnie Holzman’s for Best Adapted Screenplay, Jon M. Chu is a candidate for Best Director. In the Best Production Design category, Nathan Crowley and Lee Sandales received recognition, and Paul Tazewell received a nomination for Best Costume Design. In addition to Pablo Helman, Jonathan Fawkner, Paul Corbould, and David Shirk being nominated for Best Visual Effects, Frances Hannon, Sarah Nuth, and Laura Blount were nominated for Best Hair and Makeup.
Alongside Jon Spaihts, Denis Villeneuve was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director for Dune: Part Two. Patrice Vermette and Shane Vieau are nominated for Best Production Design, Joe Walker was honored for Best Editing, and Greig Fraser was nominated for Best Cinematography. Paul Lambert, Rhys Salcombe, Stephen James, and Gerd Nefzer are vying for Best Visual Effects, while Jacqueline West may win Best Costume Design. The movie received a nomination for Best Hair and Makeup, and Hans Zimmer is nominated for Best Score.
In addition to Best Picture, Emilia Pérez received nominations for Best Foreign Language Film. The movie won Best Acting Ensemble, Karla Sofía Gascón was nominated for Best Actress, and Zoe Saldaña, a co-star, is up for Best Supporting Actress. Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, and Camille’s song “El Mal” and Selena Gomez’s song “Mi Camino” are both nominated for Best Song, and Jacques Audiard was nominated twice for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. Also competing for Best Score are Clément Ducol and Camille.
