It quickly picked up another win, with Seth Rogen scoring the statuette for best actor in a comedy series.
Rogen and his longtime partner Evan Goldberg were soon back onstage, sharing in the award for directing for a comedy series.
That win put the Apple TV+ comedy in the record books for the most Emmy wins for a freshman comedy series.
“Adolescence” was also a big winner in the limited series categories, picking up eight total awards this year.
Freshman series “The Pitt” picked up the coveted best drama series win, while Noah Wyle won the award for best actor in a drama.
After the 77th annual Emmy Awards, “The Studio” emerged as the year’s biggest winner.
The Apple TV+ Hollywood satire won 13 Primetime and Creative Arts Emmys, including best comedy series, making it the most-awarded program of the year. The program entered the evening having won nine Creative Arts Emmys the week before. Seth Rogen swiftly won another award, this time for best actor in a comedy series. Before long, Rogen and his longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg were back on stage, splitting the comedy series directing prize. The Apple TV+ comedy now holds the record for the most Emmys for a first-season comedy series thanks to that victory.
“The Studio” then became the most-awarded comedy series in a single year at the Emmys, and Rogen and Goldberg joined Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez in winning the Emmy for best writing for a comedy. Alongside Dan Levy (2020), Amy Sherman-Palladino (2018), and Moira Demos (2016), Rogen also tied the record for the most Emmys won by a single person in a single night.
With a total of eight awards this year, “Adolescence” was also a major winner in the limited series categories. Stars Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, and Erin Doherty won awards for lead actor, supporting actor, and supporting actress, respectively, in addition to the show’s victory for best limited series. Additionally, Jack Thorne and Graham took home the best limited edition writing award.
Star Cristin Miloti won the Creative Arts Emmy for lead actress in a limited series for “The Penguin,” which already had eight wins.
Noah Wyle won the prize for best actor in a drama, and the coveted best drama series award went to the freshman series “The Pitt.”. The award for best supporting actress in a drama went to co-star Katherine LaNasa earlier in the evening. The program took home five Emmys for the entire year.
Following the announcement that the show would be ending in 2026, “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” won its first-ever award in the outstanding talk series category. Following the victory, Colbert and his team were given a standing ovation, with the audience yelling “Stephen!” as they took the stage.
This year’s Emmy host, Nate Bargatze, attempted to keep the winners within their allotted time for their acceptance speech by threatening to take money out of a $100,000 donation to the Boys and Girls Club for each second that their speech went over. After beginning as a humorous anecdote, the sum eventually became depressing, at one point hitting -$50,000. Bargatze and CBS ultimately promised the organization $350,000 to wrap up the program.
