Emily Maynard Johnson is taking a tongue-in-cheek approach to her daughter’s pregnancy.
The former Bachelorette star appeared in daughter Ricki’s Instagram Story after the 20-year-old, who Emily shares with her late fiancé Ricky Hendrick, asked her mom to share her thoughts on a “baby outside of marriage.”
“Very against it,” Emily quipped with a smile, before adding, “I cannot believe anybody would ever do that — unforgivable.”

When her daughter announced that she was expecting her first child, Maynard, who gave birth to Ricki when she was only 19, responded to the news.

Ricki, who was laughing next to her, made sure her fans understood how sarcastic her mother was. She then included another video of Emily going all out to prepare for her first grandchild, complete with shopping bags full of clothing, a wicker bassinet, a gift bag filled with baby supplies, and a copy of The Little Big Book for Grandmothers.
Ricki wrote over the video, “She got all of these things on her own and she is not done.”. “All of this stuff, including mine, is at her house as well. “..”.
In a hilarious voiceover, Ricki also made fun of her mother, saying, “Actually, my mom is really devastated and very upset. She isn’t even thrilled that I’m expecting. I mean, she’s really mad. She is furious. She is unable to look at me at all. She has absolutely no support for it. “.

The humorous posts were made just weeks after Ricki flashed an ultrasound image on her lockscreen to reveal her pregnancy. She included the widely shared Love Island USA reunion quote from Huda Mustafa over the video: “Netflix told me I’m not allowed to talk about it.”. “.
Ricki has been open about her pregnancy journey ever since, even revealing that she is expecting a girl.

The mother of six, who also has Jennings, 9, Gibson, 8, Gatlin, 7, Magnolia, 4, and Jones, 3, with husband Tyler Johnson, wrote a heartfelt ode to Ricki’s 19th birthday back in June 2024.
