The release dates of the Russo Brothers’ upcoming Avengers movies are being postponed by Marvel Studios. The date of Avengers: Doomsday has been rescheduled from May 1 to December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars will now air from May 7 to December 17, 2027.

These are two of the biggest movies ever made, according to insiders, and the delays just give them more time to realize a huge idea. Due to the success of their films like Spider-Man: No Way Home during the holiday season, Disney and Marvel decided to release in December. Now, work is underway on Avengers: Doomsday.

Disney also released information today about two well-known films from 20th Century Studios: The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars, which stars Jacob Elordi. The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be released on May 1, 2026, while The Dog Stars will be released on March 27, 2026. Following a historically successful first two films, James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water will be re-released in IMAX/3D on October 3, 2025, ahead of the hugely successful threequel Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19.

Nine years after a flu pandemic wipes out most of humanity, The Dog Stars, which is based on Peter Heller’s novel, follows a grieving pilot and his devoted dog as they struggle to survive in a remote Colorado airfield. In search of hope, connection, and a reason to live, he embarks on a perilous journey through a devastated landscape, motivated by a mysterious radio transmission and haunted by loss. Benedict Wong, Guy Pearce, Margaret Qualley, and Josh Brolin are among the other cast members.
