The collegiate football season’s first separation Saturday is approaching, marking the beginning of the division between contenders and pretenders. A stellar evening schedule for the SEC will follow the day’s high-profile in-league and nonconference games.

No, early in the window. 12 In a crucial ACC matchup, Clemson will be visiting Georgia Tech. Nevertheless, no. 19 The Crimson Tide will host Wisconsin as they move into a crucial matchup with a Big Ten rival. Highlighting the afternoon schedule is a matchup between No. 6 Georgia and No. 15 Tennessee, along with a contest within the state between No. Fifth, Miami and No. 18. South Florida.

One of the main events of the evening is a bout between No. 3. A game that frequently results in drama pits Florida against LSU. However, No could be the evening’s main attraction. 8 The matchup between Notre Dame and No. 16. Texas A&M. The Fighting Irish couldn’t afford to start 0–2 in their College Football Playoff campaign after losing to Miami in Week 1.

The A&M hype machine would go into overdrive, however, if the Aggies could storm into South Bend and emerge victorious. We’ll have a better idea of the national hierarchy by the end of the night.

The time is always Eastern.

No. 12 Clemson versus. Georgia Tech. .

Noon | ESPN fubo (Try for free) This selection is based on King playing for Georgia Tech, which for the time being appears to be the case. Even though Philo is a good backup, Georgia Tech will need King’s advantage if it hopes to pull off an upset. As of right now, the Yellow Jackets appear to be the superior team, regardless of the quarterback. They handled business against an obviously outmatched Gardner-Webb team and defeated Colorado on the road. After losing at home to LSU, Clemson had a difficult time against Troy, who should have been clearly outmatched. Even though they might not have enough gas to complete the upset, Georgia Tech will still be within a field goal. Pick: Georgia Tech +3.5 (-110) — Will Backus.

No. 19 Alabama against… Wisconsin.

Noon | ABC Fubo (Try for free) Despite not playing well in either of their first two games, Wisconsin’s offense was able to make a number of big plays in their passing game against Middle Tennessee last week. Unless Alabama turns the ball over a lot, I don’t think the Middle Tennessee team that lost to Austin Peay is in the same weight class as Alabama, so I don’t think the Badgers will have much fun offensively here. Tom Fornelli’s pick: Alabama -20.5.

Purdue University at USC.

3.30 p.m. m. | CBS, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App, Paramount+ Premium One of the biggest surprises of Week 3 would be Purdue pulling off the complete upset, but the resurgent Boilermakers might have enough to manage a respectable victory in this Big Ten opener. Their strategy is clear: cut the game short and restrict USC’s assets. In terms of called run play percentage, Purdue is ranked 23rd in the country (57.0 percent), while USC’s defense has had trouble stopping the run and is tied for 80th place (60.8 percent). It may last longer than anticipated if Purdue manages the ground tempo. Pick: Cody Nagel, Purdue +20.5.

No. 6 Georgia versus… No. 15. Tennessee.

3.30 p.m. M. | Georgia has struggled offensively, but the Bulldogs are destroying their opponents defensively, according to ABC Fubo (Try for free). Locking down Josh Heupel’s offense has always been a strong suit for Kirby Smart. Although he will have his moments, Vols quarterback Joey Aguilar will struggle in his first big-stage appearance. The under could also be a wise move, but Georgia will ultimately pull away. Georgia -3.5 — Shehan Jeyarajah is the pick.

No. 5. Miami versus. No. 18 South Florida.

4:15 p.m. A. | CW Fubo (Try for free) USF has done a fantastic job of positioning itself for a run at the College Football Playoffs should the Bulls win the American, but that giant-killer mentality will be tested against a Miami team that is better on both lines of scrimmage. Miami should be able to defend home turf and win easily as long as they can limit the explosive plays that drove each of the previous two USF victories and do a better job of applying pass rush to Byrum Brown. Pick: Chip Patterson, Miami -17.5.

No. 3 LSU against. Florida.

at 7:30 p.m. m. | ABC Fubo (Try for free) Due to poor game management, discipline issues, and subpar performance, Florida is limping in following a loss to South Florida. Given their abundance of talent, it would be premature to place the Gators on quit watch. Due to its inexperience, LSU’s offense has not yet demonstrated the explosive equipment that will probably be needed to win SEC games. Although Florida’s defense can keep it close, LSU should win. David Cobb, pick: Florida +7.5.

No. 8 Notre Dame versus. No. Texas A&M (16).

6:30 p.m. m. 11 years have passed since Texas A&M defeated a ranked team on the road. Watch the game for free on NBC Fubo. It would be a welcome change of pace to win Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium and exact revenge for a 10-point loss to Notre Dame at home last season. Although he wants to be known for his passing, Marcel Reed’s primary responsibility is to ignite the rushing attack, which requires him to tuck the ball and run for hard yards. This gives the Aggies’ offense a different dynamic than the Irish did last season. With Jeremiyah Love leading their rushing attack and CJ Carr as their quarterback, Notre Dame has demonstrated that he can run when called upon. It seems like the Irish are running the ball more than they did against Miami, which amounted to 28 runs for 93 yards. Brandon Marcello picked Notre Dame Money line -258.
