Conversely, Pickens wants to take what Lamb specializes in and add it to his arsenal.
As Pickens get to learn more up close from Lamb, he’s also getting up to speed on the Cowboys’ play book.
As the new look Cowboys head towards the 2025 season, Pickens has a lot to prove going into the final year of his rookie contract.
It’s not just on the field, as there have been concerns about Pickens’ maturity and culture fit.
Lamb and Pickens will now get to work on writing the story of their time together, in the hopes that their complimenting play styles can lead to more wins for the Cowboys starting in 2025.
Although Lamb has been with the Cowboys for the longest period of time on the roster, he still wants to learn from players like Pickens, just as he did from Amari Cooper in his early career.
“If I am in, I will go watch the film after I finish, and if I am not, I will watch him every rep he is in. I am a student at a game, and I truly enjoy it, as does everyone else in the room, but GP in particular is very talented. “.
In contrast, Pickens wishes to expand his skill set by incorporating Lamb’s area of expertise.
Said Pickens, “Just intermediate stuff.”. “He has excellent feet, so he frequently steps in one spot, which allows him to move quickly in a small area and is tall. Many people are unaware of his height. “.”.
In addition to learning more directly from Lamb, Pickens is also familiarizing himself with the Cowboys’ playbook. The good news is that Pickens has seen a lot of the same things before and is not alone in his learning process. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer made it a point to commend Pickens’ efforts in the team meeting rooms to learn as much as he could as quickly as possible.
“I’m currently learning plays in a way. Pickens stated, “Offensively, plays are universal throughout the league.”. “So, just keep working. As I mentioned earlier, there are a lot of rookie guys here as well, so everyone is attempting to [learn].”. “,”.
Going into the last year of his rookie contract, Pickens has a lot to prove as the revamped Cowboys prepare for the 2025 campaign. It extends beyond the field as Pickens’ maturity and cultural fit have been questioned.
After researching Pickens on their own, the Cowboys believed he might be a fit. They have received nothing but positive feedback about his addition thus far, including from Lamb.
Lamb stated, “I knew who he was as a player, obviously just watching him with the Steelers and how passionate he is about the game, I think they kind of get it confused once you’re so passionate about something you’re willing to do anything for,” Lamb said.
On the subject of winning, I mean simply being content in a company; I’m not claiming that he wasn’t or that he was, but you never know. I’ll start with the fact that he hasn’t stopped grinning since coming here. “,”.
Pickens has heard the commotion, but he doesn’t care about any external stories and wants to do what he’s been attempting to do all along: Get to work.
In fact, Pickens claimed, “I’m a chill guy.”. “There is a tornado phase that isn’t even real. I simply love working, and I’m a laid-back guy.
“Just maintaining your modesty. I kind of always did that. I therefore always continued to work while maintaining my humility, even when the situation was what it was. “.
In the hopes that their complementary play styles will help the Cowboys win more games starting in 2025, Lamb and Pickens will now begin writing the tale of their time together.
“I can assure you that I am not exhausted if he is,” Lamb remarked. As a result, I’m going to do everything in my power to support him and let him know that he has some help on the other side. That’s definitely a dog that is willing to win. “..”.
