An October event appears likely based on Apple’s updated product roadmap

Apple’s history of October events and launches September is typically the biggest launch month for Apple, but the company almost always follows it up with more product launches in October.
However, if the company wants to hold a proper October event, there are certainly plenty of rumored products coming to justify it.
Although an M5 MacBook Pro is coming soon, the latest reporting indicates it’s been pushed into early 2026.
The M5 iPad Pro and Vision Pro 2 might potentially be paired together as two M5-equipped products.
Apple’s always a fan of Apple TV+ plugs, and the streamer has some big new shows coming to promote.

Earlier this week was Apple’s September event. It’s time to look ahead to the upcoming line of new products, though, as preorders for the new iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods models have begun. All of these products seem like they might be worthy of an October event.

Apple’s October launch and event history.

Although Apple usually launches its most popular products in September, the company almost always follows up with additional product launches in October.

In recent Octobers, the following have been introduced.

iPad mini, M4 MacBook Pro, M4 iMac, and M4 Mac mini in 2024.

M3 iMac, M3 MacBook Pro, 2023.

2022: iPad base model, M2 iPad Pro, Apple TV 4K.

2021: Apple Music Voice, M1 MacBook Pro, AirPods 3, and HomePod mini colors.

Apple hosted events in October of 2023 and 2021, chose to launch their products via press release in 2022, and took a novel approach in 2024 when they released the iPad mini through a press release and the M4 Macs on three separate launch days.

A similar multi-day strategy might be used this year if Apple considers the introduction of the M4 Mac last year to be a success.

There are, however, a number of rumored products that will support the company’s decision to host a legitimate October event.

For a potential October event, Apple has a ton of new products.

According to rumors, this fall will see the release of at least five new products.

Apple typically releases new Macs in October as well. Despite the imminent arrival of an M5 MacBook Pro, recent reports suggest that it has been delayed until early 2026.

The rumored inexpensive 12-point, 9-inch MacBook with an A18 Pro chip is another Mac wildcard. Although it seems more likely to happen in early 2026, a surprise launch right before the holidays could make sense.

Despite the absence of Macs, Apple has five products that could easily fill an October event or be distributed over several days in October.

Since its 2021 launch, AirTag has gained a lot of popularity, and Apple may very well give it some stage time based on how much of an upgrade AirTag 2 packs.

As two M5-enabled devices, the M5 iPad Pro and Vision Pro 2 may be combined. Since neither hardware update is anticipated to bring about any significant advancements beyond the M5 chip, I would anticipate a healthy emphasis on the chip’s capabilities.

Lastly, as part of an Apple Home presentation, Apple may combine the new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini, laying the groundwork for a larger push on home products the following year.

Additionally, services could be highlighted as a wildcard. Apple TV+ plugs are always popular, and the streaming service is promoting some exciting new series. iOS 26 also brings significant improvements to Apple Music, so maybe a new Apple One push is coming soon.

A one-hour event in October or several shorter introductions lasting ten to fifteen minutes each on different days could be justified by all of these anticipated announcements. However, with its October rollout plans, Apple likes to keep us guessing, in contrast to September launches, which are typically fairly predictable.
