Among the major winners at the 2025 American Music Awards, which were televised from Las Vegas and produced by Dick Clark Productions, were Eminem, Beyoncé, and Billie Eilish.

The seven categories in which Eilish was nominated—including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (“Hit Me Hard and Soft”), Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Female Pop Artist, and Favorite Pop Album—were all won by Eilish. Additionally, she took home the Song of the Year and Favorite Pop Song awards for “Birds of a Feather.”.

Beyoncé won two awards for “Cowboy Carter,” including Favorite Country Album and Favorite Female Country Artist. Post Malone won Favorite Male Country Artist, his first country category victory, and Eminem won Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album (“The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)”), his first American Music Awards in fifteen years. New Artist of the Year went to Gracie Abrams, and “Die With a Smile” earned Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga the titles of Favorite Music Video and Collaboration of the Year. Mars won Favorite Male Pop Artist, and Gaga won Favorite Dance/Electronic Artist.

Performing a dance medley of 23 of the biggest hits from the previous year, Jennifer Lopez made her comeback as the AMAs’ host for the first time in ten years. Janet Jackson made her first appearance on television in seven years while accepting the Icon Award.

She performed her hit song “Someone to Call My Lover” on stage, wearing a white jacket and loose-fitting jeans. There was a brief mashup with Mariah Carey’s “Shake It Off.”. Jackson accepted the Icon Award after finishing with “All For You,” saying that becoming famous was never the goal of creating music.

Not to be disrespectful, but I don’t think of myself as an icon. Being famous was not my family’s or my own dream. That is not how we were brought up. We always had a unique passion for singing, dancing, and music, and success came from perseverance and hard work,” she said. My family’s story and mine are genuinely American tales. Only in America would this have occurred. My one wish is that I have inspired artists and others to pursue their goals and achieve success. “”.

Five of his kids presented Rod Stewart with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and he ended the show with his timeless hit song, “Forever Young.”. During his acceptance speech, he declared, “I am completely shocked; I had no idea they were here, my kids.”. When I first began singing in the early 1960s, long before you guys were here, I did so because I had a strong desire to sing. All I wanted to do was that. Many years later, I’m here even though I didn’t want to be wealthy or well-known. “”.

With his song “Stay Country or Die Tryin’,” Blake Shelton led the evening’s first performance, and Lainey Wilson continued the country trend with a cover of her recent single, “Somewhere Over Laredo.”. Along with covers of “The Sweet Escape” and “Hollaback Girl,” Gwen Stefani performed a medley of her recently released single, “Swallow My Tears.”. For “Mystical Magical,” Benson Boone performed backflips, and Renee Rapp released her brand-new single, “Leave Me Alone.”. Gloria Estefan performed “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “La Vecina (No Sé Na’),” and “Conga” in a medley. After Alex Warren performed “Ordinary,” Becky G and Manuel Turizo performed “Que Haces,” their first duet. “.”.
