“Good Night, and Good Luck” is also nominated in the scenic design, costume design, lighting and sound design categories.
George Clooney, good night, and good luck.
The A-list actor, who dyed his trademark gray hair darker for his Broadway role, was thankfully able to wear most of it again when he walked the Tony Awards 2025 red carpet with his wife, Amal, on Sunday.
Amal, meanwhile, looked stunning in an off-the-shoulder dress covered in pearls and accessorized with matching Roger Vivier pumps.
The appearance follows the couple’s dinner date in New York City last week with close friend Bono and wife Ali Hewson, where Amal looked stunning in a Stella McCartney dress with a cherry print.
The “Ocean’s 11” star, who just finished his eight-week stint as the star of “Good Night, and Good Luck,” in which he plays famous journalist Edward R. Murrow, flaunted the new look while sporting a classic black tuxedo.
To the chagrin of both Amal and himself, 64-year-old George shaved his face and forewent his signature salt-and-pepper hairstyle for the part. He has been allowing it to grow out as his time on stage draws to a close.
“The last show [for ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’] is Sunday,” he told Seth Meyers last week, expressing his eagerness to get rid of the “midlife crisis” look. When we go to the Tony Awards that evening [June 8], it will have already changed by the time we attend the matinee. “”.
“It’s awful. While the bottom is gray, the top is still dark. George complained about the unusually dark dye job, saying, “So you get that really nice-looking, grow-out of gray.”. “It looks awful. I appear to be going through a terrible midlife crisis. I’m 64 years old, so midlife is a stretch. “.”.
George is nominated for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a play at this year’s Tony Awards, suggesting that the transformation was worthwhile. Additionally nominated in the categories of lighting, sound, costume, and scenic design is “Good Night, and Good Luck.”.
