The 34-year-old Dvalishvili, a Georgia native known as “The Machine” due to his seemingly limitless cardio, won the title by decision over O’Malley in September and successfully defended it in January with an exciting performance against Umar Nurmagomedov. Since losing his title to Dvalishvili during the UFC’s only trip to the Las Vegas Sphere, O’Malley (18-2, 1 NC) has not participated in any competitions. After a thrilling victory over Yan in 2022, O’Malley, 30, who is arguably the biggest name in the UFC bantamweight division, earned his first title shot in 2023. He then famously knocked out Aljamain Sterling to win the title. In March 2024, O’Malley defeated Marlon “Chito” Vera in his only strap defense, and his seven-fight winning streak ended abruptly against Dvalishvili.
The co-main event of the evening features a fight between pound-for-pound stars as No. Five-ranked Peña (12-5) fights No. to defend her UFC women’s bantamweight title. Harrison was ranked fourth (18-1). Harrison, a two-time Olympic champion and two-time PFL champion, is 2-0 so far under the UFC banner, while Peña won the title to begin her second reign by split decision over Raquel Pennington this past October.
