The national champs have loaded up and may well have a roster to make a push for another Final Four.
Arkansas transfer Boogie Fland committed to Florida, he announced Tuesday, meaning the Gators’ 2025-26 backcourt will be led by two high-profile transfers.
The NIL deal to land Fland was more than $2 million, sources told CBS Sports.
Florida had been involved with recruiting Fland for nearly a month.

After loading up, the national champions might have a roster ready to contend for another Final Four. The Gators will have two prominent transfers leading their backcourt in 2025–26 after Arkansas transfer Boogie Fland announced on Tuesday that he had committed to Florida. On April 16, Xaivian Lee, a former Princeton standout, made his UF commitment.
According to sources who spoke to CBS Sports, the NIL deal to acquire Fland was worth over $2 million. For almost a month, Florida had been actively seeking Fland.
The 6-foot-3 lead guard, who was once a five-star prospect, is ranked among the top ten portal players this year. He made a brief appearance in the pre-NBA Draft process before declaring last week that he would be going back to school. Last season, Fland played in 21 games for Arkansas, missing 15 because of a thumb injury, and averaged 13 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds. The Gators had been gaining ground ever since he spent the weekend in Florida.

After Florida considered adding Desmond Claude, a transfer from USC, but ultimately decided to look elsewhere, the Fland commitment was made. Despite his inconsistent play, Fland is a talented shooter and playmaker. He only made 37.9 percent of his shots overall, including 34 percent from three-point range. Todd Golden’s Gators will have a roster that is competitive and probably among the top 10 teams in the preseason thanks to the addition. Along with Fland and Lee in the backcourt, the Gators have also brought back center Micah Handlogten, power forward Thomas Haugh, and power forward Rueben Chinyelu, who withdrew from the draft a few days ago. Big man Alex Condon, who attended the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, is also anticipated to return; however, according to sources, he is more likely than not to return to Gainesville in the end. CJ Ingram and Alex Lloyd, two four-star freshmen, will also be joining the Gators.
