Louella and Lou Lou are revealed in ‘Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has cast a pair of pivotal roles.
Molly McCann is set to play Louella, while Iona Bell will portray her Capitol-assigned lookalike Lou Lou in the Lionsgate film, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
The book Sunrise on the Reaping returns readers to Panem on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, set 24 years prior to the events in the franchise’s initial book The Hunger Games, first published in 2008.
The franchise’s first five movies — starting with 2012’s The Hunger Games — have surpassed $3.3 billion at the global box office.

Two key roles have been cast for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned that Molly McCann will play Louella, and Iona Bell will play her Capitol-assigned lookalike Lou Lou in the Lionsgate movie. The film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling book, directed by Francis Lawrence, is scheduled to open in theaters in November. 19, 2026.

Previously revealed cast members include Kelvin Harrison Jr., Jesse Plemons, Mckenna Grace, Whitney Peak, and Joseph Zada. Maya Hawke, Ben Wang, and Lili Taylor. Last week, THR exclusively revealed that Ralph Fiennes had been chosen to play the evil President Snow.

Billy Ray wrote the script for the film, which Lawrence directed based on Collins’ novel. Color Force is produced by Brad Simpson and Nina Jacobson, with executive producer Cameron MacConomy.

Television credits that McCann is well-known for include Star Wars: Visions, The Hardacres, The Boy That Never Was, and Bad Sisters. She also starred in features like Never Grow Old, received an IFTA nomination for Herself, and will soon be seen in Feed. The United Agents are McCann’s representatives.

In addition to performing in the upcoming films Fing!, Savage Flowers, and Frayed, Bell has made appearances on the television series Mandrake. Mark Jermin Management is her agent.

The 50th Hunger Games takes place in Panem on the morning of the reaping in the book Sunrise on the Reaping, which takes place 24 years before the events of the first Hunger Games book in the series, which came out in 2008.

Starting with The Hunger Games in 2012, the first five films in the franchise have made over $3.3 billion at the box office worldwide. In the first four films, Jennifer Lawrence played Katniss Everdeen.
